This is a sample of my personal, modern Black Beauty. Here's the original description:
Everything I love about the Ludwig Black Beauty in one sample pack. This isn't your typical Steven Slate sample pack. These have character, and leave room for mixing to taste.
This pack samples from three rooms, the blue room (my video studio), the big room (our clinic hall), and the cymbal room.
All three rooms are unique, but I guarantee you've never heard a sample with a reverb like the one from the cymbal room.
I've also included THE ONE, which combines several samples and will give you instant Black Beauty goodness.

This one needs a little more explanation. V2 is a '79 or '80 Super Sensitive Black Beauty originally owned by Rick Allen of Def Leppard. It not only recorded several Def Leppard albums, but also was borrowed by Lars Ulrich of Metallica to record Master of Puppets (WHAT!). I was lucky enough to borrow this for the day from Donn Bennett and capture it at Robert Lang Studio in Seattle, WA.
Robert Lang has a ton of rock mojo of its own. Nirvana has recorded there, as well as Soundgarden, Foo Fighters, Death Cab for Cutie, Alice in Chains... you get the picture.
This one includes 3 tunings, 4 velocities, and 4 different samples each. It also includes samples of close mics, ambient mics, a blend, as well as unmixed and mixed audio. In addition, I've included full stems of all the unmixed hits, so you have total control if you want to create your own mix from the ground up.
