This is for 2 sample packs:
V1
V1 was recorded in my smaller room with an '83 (possibly '84) Tama bell brass. This room is fairly dry, and recorded with my typical mic setup, including Coles 4038s, AKG 414 B-ULS, Shure SM57, and more.
Here's the V1 readme:
"I had very limited time with this drum, so there are a total of 7 samples/velocities, so think of these as one shots, not something you’ll be able to round-robin.
I’ve given you a few different options while mixing. You can grab either just the close mics, the ambient mics, or a blend of both either completely dry or with some moderate processing. There’s plenty of room to push the mix with both the dry and processed tracks, so go crazy.
I’d LOVE to hear anything you make with these, so always feel free to tag me @coleparamoredrums on Instagram.
V2
V2 is an '81 with a black dot head, very similar to "The Terminator" owned by the Drum Doctor and used on Nirvana's Nevermind.
This drum was recorded in Robert Lang Studio in Seattle, WA, which has a ton of rock mojo of its own. Nirvana has recorded there, as well as Soundgarden, Foo Fighters, Death Cab for Cutie, Alice in Chains... you get the picture.
This one was recorded with a larger room, more gear, and more time than V1, so it includes 3 tunings, 4 velocities, and 4 different samples each. It also includes samples of close mics, ambient mics, a blend, as well as unmixed and mixed audio. In addition, I've included full stems of all the unmixed hits, so you have total control if you want to create your own mix from the ground up.
Mics included:
Shure SM57 (snare top)
Sennheiser MD441 (snare top)
EV RE20 (snare bottom)
Royer R121 (front of shell)
Vintage AKG 414-EB (OH center)
Neumann U87 pair (space OH pair)
Coles 4038 pair (over-the-shoulder pair)
Neumann U67 (mono room)
AKG 414 ULS pair (stereo room)
Both packs are included for $10, but you can also get everything I sell on the website for $15, which includes both of my Ludwig Black Beauty sample packs, which I HIGHLY recommend checking out. The one I used for V2 was used to track Master of Puppets by Metallica (crazy!).
