The Beached Margin - James Billingham
This piece is based on the painting by Edward Wadsworth and shows a beach still-life. The style explores geometric shapes and semi-abstract objects. According to Wadsworth it depicts fishermen's poles being blown by the wind. In my music I have aimed to capture the powerful breeze and geometric shapes as the whirling notes enter chaotic patterns which are mysteriously organised to produce mesmorising patterns for the short time the wind lasts.
The piece is aimed at around grade 4 level and requires use of interlaced hands.
