Late Anagram Tea - James Billingham
This piece is based on the artwork by Sebastian L Jhevgn and is themed around the journey through a creative day punctuated by calm moments. The artist feels that mealtimes are one of these moments and so I have included three 'mealtimes' in my music. I felt these would be different for every player so although I have played what I felt worked in these spaces I have left room for improvisation so each player may personalise the piece accordingly. The artist is quoted as saying of his work: 'Art is like gold; not because it is rare or shines but rather because it only has the value which humans attach to it'.
The piece is aimed at around grade 4-5 level but may be suitable for others depending on improvised sections.
