Vielleicht fragst du dich jetzt: 'Warum dieses Buch über die 2 5 1 - Progression, es gibt ja bereits viele davon?'
Nun, als Jazzgitarrist bin auch ich im Besitze einiger '2 5 1 - Bücher', welche ich während meiner Studienzeit und immer noch gebrauche. Die meisten funktionieren in etwa so: Da werden einige Licks aufgelistet, sie werden analysiert und am Schluss steht der Satz: Spiele diese Licks in allen Tonarten.
Für die Gitarristen ist dies 'kein Problem'!?!
Zum Beispiel:
Er spielt ein Dm7 G7 Cmaj7 - Lick im 5. Bund. Das gleich Lick spielt er dann bei Am7 D7 Gmaj7 im 12. Bund.
Nun wäre es doch sinnvoller wenn er sein Am7 D7 Gmaj7 - Lick auch im 5. Bund spielen könnte.
Den meisten Gitarristen fällt dieser Schritt jedoch etwas schwer.
Auf den nächsten Seiten findest du einige 2 5 1 - Licks. Um diese Licks in allen Tonarten, aber in derselben Position spielen zu können, genügen fünf Fingersätze.

Perhaps you ask yourself now: 'Why is there this new book about the 2 5 1 - progression, when there are already a lot of them around?'
Well, as a jazz-guitarist I too own several of these 2 5 1 - books, which I have used in the past and am still using now. Most of them work this way: Some licks are listed, they are analyzed and at the end they say this: Play these licks in all keys.
This is 'no problem' for the guitar player!?!
For example:
He plays a Dm7 G7 Cmaj7 - lick in the 5th position. Then he plays the same lick at Am7 D7 Gmaj7 in the 12th position.
Now woudn't it make more sense, if he could play the Am7 D7 Gmaj7 - lick in the 5th position too?
However, for most guitarists this step is usually a bit difficult.
On the following pages you'll find a few of these 2 5 1 - licks. To play these licks in all keys, but in the same position, you need just five fingerpositions.
