Vijecnica (1992 - 1996) [War photos from Bosnian War]
On August 25th, 1992, Vijecnica was shelled and caught fire which continued through the night of 26th August, 1992. Millions of literatures were destroyed and lost in the fire. The war in Bosnia lasted until 1995 but the incidents and shellings in Sarajevo continued until February 1996.
Several photos have captured the burning and the aftermath from the outside and inside. Vijecnica's burning aftermath also became a iconic site for a popular violinist Cello who played inside the rubble from the fire.
