This is "the" quintessential early 2000s indie rock sound (in my opinon). Think The Strokes, Franz Ferdinand, Arcade Fire, Peter Bjorn and John, etc.
The drum is a '70s Ludwig Acrolite with tons of tape, the muffler engaged, taped down snare wires, and tons of vibe.
Samples were recorded with a Shure SM7B + Slate ML2 (top), Shure SM57 (bottom), AKG 414 B-ULS (stereo overheads), Oktava 012 (mono overhead), Coles 4038s (stereo room), and a Sennheiser MD21 sitting on the floor.
BONUS! Sample pack also includes two sets of reamped samples through my Fender Princeton Reverb '65 with a 12" Greenback speaker. One set is dry, and one includes the built in reverb.
