GO - Weston - Uxbridge - Newmarket

*Please contact me if you would like a Trial Version of a layout* ( tylermacneill@gmail.com )

Have what it takes to make sure over 50,000 commuters make it to downtown Toronto on-time? This layout features the very busy corridors surrounding the GTA. The main layout begins 2 miles on either side of the Union Station Rail Corridor ( USRC ). Guiding UPX trains to Pearson Airport every 15 minutes, local and express GO train service and Via Rail’s Toronto to Montreal / Ottawa / Sarnia trains.

This special layout includes 4 different subdivisions. Each with its own characteristics. By 6:15 am Monday morning, you’ll already have 14 trains on the layout.

Very Freight limited, few CN local trains do make an appearance throughout the gameplay.

Don't rely on Fleet signals, as certain trains can throw a wrench into the best plans. You might even get into a routine, starting at 0455, your trial by fire begins with the morning rush into Toronto. Around 0930 the pattern changes as the rush slows down and GO trains start their return trip from Toronto. Then it starts all over again with the evening rush out of Toronto, all those people have to get home somehow.

There are plans for major upgrades throughout 2021-2022, If anybody has any track plans for the final layout, it would be greatly appreciated.

Start times:
0445 Monday - No end time - The first train is at 0456, get your fleeting setup, have a drink of coffee, you’ll need it.
1500 Wednesday - No end time - Good for starting out, I would try this first, then 0445
2000 Thursday - No end time - Very little traffic between 0100-0455

Train ID's:
9xxx series trains are GO Subdivision ( Oshawa )
7xxx series trains are Uxbridge ( Lincolnville )
6xxx series trains are Newmarket ( Allendale )
3xxx series trains are Weston ( Kitchener )
27xx series trains are Milton GO trains ( Milton )

GO Subdivision - 11.8 Miles - 4 Stations - Connects off of the CN Kingston - End of Line

The GO Subdivision connects the far eastern portion of the Metrolinx GO network. Literally the end of the track at Oshawa GO station, commuter trains run from 5 am until 1 am. Be wary of the Pickering Express and the Oshawa express trains, It is possible to run them around the trains making all stops. The GO Subdivision runs parallel to the CN Kingston, splitting off at Durham Jct. This portion of the Kingston sees all the VIA trains headed to and from Union station. No freight.

Uxbridge Subdivision - 22 Miles - 9 Stations - End of Line

Trains start in the morning from 22 Lincolnville, making all stops to Union. Watch when trains are at Guildwood on the Kingston, as you need to time it with the trains coming off of the Uxbridge. In the afternoon, all-day two-way service is in effect. Meaning meets at Hagerman. Afternoon trains only go as far as Mount Joy. In the evening trains will travel back to Lincolnville, and at night CN train L54631 comes out of Oshawa to work Scepter Canada.

Newmarket - 43 Miles - 9 Stations - Tracks continue to Allendale Terminal

Serving the Northern portion of the GTA, the Newmarket is a mix of commuter service and CN locals. The morning rush promptly starts at 0514, with GO trains making all stops to Union, including stops at York University. Please note that certain westbound and eastbound trains make the station stop at York University, not all trains. This allows for GO trains to meet at Snider, as there is no platform on the north side. CN L54431 comes into play around 1030am, and CN L54131 comes out to work shell Canada. Try and slot them in between the GO train service.

Weston - 14 miles - 5 Stations - End of the line for UPX, connection to CN Halton

The Weston Subdivision has gone through major upgrades in the past 5 years to allow for all-day GO service to Kitchener, and the quarterly departures from the UPX. Keep the service running as on-time as you can, any delays will cause headaches. Two locals from CN service this subdivision, L559 ( Weston Local ) and L549 ( West Toronto Transfer )
