Dracula is a classic novel written by Bram Stoker, (1847-1912) an Irish writer who published his masterpiece in 1897. He spent 8 years researching vampire stories before he wrote the book for which he is best known. Several of his books have eerie supernatural themes, but none has gained the notoriety of this one, which has been the subject of innumerable movies and spin-off books.
