Amazon review:
Never mind Crowley being the most wicked man in the world of his time, that (dis) honor belonged to old Basil and his collected works (like this one) on Finbarr. Crouch, or LaCroix as he liked to call himself (although initially he gleefully adopted the nom-de-plume of the Red Spider), drew dark phantasy after blacker fantasy out of his murky subconscious time after time ( and never even stopped when he approached his maker in his late 80s !) Although cringe making at times - far more than goose bump creating - hammy old Basil was still a great deal of cod Gothic fun to read. I'm not so sure about the practice !!!
